Activism
Fidel
is a longtime advocate for quality living standards and responsive
political representation for the citizens of Austin and Travis
County. Fidel, also known as "Ace", has been a political
activist since 1970.
He has actively participated in numerous grassroots campaigns
related to state and loca level issues. His dedication to the
citizens of Austin and Travis County earned him the position of
Election Judge for 10 years and as Precinct Chair more than 10
years.
Ace's commitment to the needs of the people and the importance
of responsive government has also earned him a position as county
delegate for the Travis County Democratic Convention and as a
state delegate to the 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008
Texas State Democratic Convention. He also attended the 2004 Democratic
National Convention held Boston.
In 2006 and 2008, he was a member of State Executive Committee
2006.
Fidel is a Co-Chair for the Progressive Hispanic Delegation (PHD's)
at the State Convention 2004 to 2008.
